As a group of professional partners, we have been working hard together and growing consistently in the past 20 years. It is because we strongly believe that we engage in a race with quality everyday; we insist on the best quality and take challenge to adapt the latest technology. MODERN established, serving clients mainly from TV Commercials productions. |

Choosing the environmental-friendly PTR (Particle Transfer Rollers) to clean the film and getting rid of the contagious film cleaning solvent. |

1994: |
In order to raise the quality of Music Video productions, MODERN gave special discounts to attract and encourage filmmakers to use 16mm color negatives to shoot Music Video. |

1995: |
Beginning to process for documentaries and student short films. |

1996: |
Setting up Excalibur computer conforming system; appointing staff to be trained abroad. |

1997: |
Exploring oversea opportunities and seeking foreign clients to connect with international professionals; periodically inviting professionals to Taiwan to give lectures in the company. |

1998: |
Planning for a digital post-production center, becoming the first laboratory in Taiwan accredited with Kodak Imagecare Program. With this accreditation, clients can trust the laboratory and rely on their service. |

1999: |
The original site was not sufficient for expansion; MODERN bought the current site, a single detached office building, and set up a Digital Post Production Center, from basement two floors to six floors above. |

2000: |
Setting up a digital computer editing system, Digital Intermediate productions and purchasing additional digital equipment. |

2001: |
Finalising the setup of printing system and digital film-out system. |
| |
2002: |
Purhased a S-16mm Aaton A-minima camera; becoming the sole agent of Aaton in Taiwan. |

2003: |
Continuously upgrading all kinds of digital systems. Same year an Austrian TV production team visited Taiwan for an ecological documentary, Typhoon Island. MODERN was contacted as the designated lab. The film was broadcasted on Taiwan Public Television Service in September 2004. |

Adding the Black-and-White negative processing machine, Digital Film Out System (on 5242), SONY-SRW5000 HD work station and Dixi-HD Telecine machine; finalizing the setup of a Digital Post Production Center |

Setting up AvidDS system and its accessories. |

Purchased an Aaton Penelope 35mm 2-perf /3-perf camera, Lasergraphics Director Film Scanner and Digital Vision Film Master. Establish digital post-production line. |
Kodak Imagecare Accreditation
Modern Cinema Laboratory is the first laboratory in Taiwan accredited with KODAK IMAGECARE Program membership in 1998. Since then, every year, Modern has met the critical quality standards demanded by the Kodak in Australia. The examination items include the lab standards and procedures; detailed and strict guidelines; better quality and greater efficiency; accurate record keeping and problem solving; and ongoing training provided by IMAGECARE Program.
The KODAK IMAGECARE Program assists motion picture laboratories in maintaining the highest standard and the consistent film processing procedures. With the aid of KODAK IMAGECARE Program' s guidelines, the accredited lab will accomplish the goal of quality guarantee.
